Sorry guys this question must of been asked 1000 times on here already

I notice that most of you seem to be using Photoshop of some description.

I'm currently trying to learn the art of editing using Paintshop Pro 7. Now am I wasting my time here or should I just get Photoshop Elements 6 and start learning from there.

I'm not to sure how transferable the knowledge is between the two pacakages, is it same functions but just different buttons to achieve the same thing, if you see what I mean.

I'm quite happy to bin the Paintshop and invest in Photoshop and Elements 6 is offer now, probabely due to Elements 7 impending launch.

Any opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Ed

Still learning with Canon 40D, 28-135mm, 100-400mm L and Elements 6.
Any Advice greatfully received.

Ive never used PSP... but I would imagine they are nothing alike. You would probably have to learn new terminology and buttons IF you move over to Photoshop. So if you have to learn from scratch anyways.. Id start with Photoshop.... especially if you plan to move into the CS arena later.

I currently use Photoshop CS3 and im still learning. :)

I've made my decision to change to Photoshop and need to order it from amazon.

My version of PSP is old so I'm sure a newer version of Photoshop will be much better.

I'm sure I'll have loads of numpty questions to ask.

Cheers Guys

Edd,

I finally upgraded my copy of Photoshop to the latest version, so don't feel like you'll be learning alone. I'll probably have some questions too.

I have a new MacBook Pro and want to upgrade from IPHOTO and IDVD for pictures editing and making presentation. What program do you recommend?

Hi all - I'm an amateur photographer who also enjoys shooting video as well. I've played around with photoshop 6.0 but am wondering what is a good product that allows me to edit both still and video. Thanks!

Hey, guess wha? I too would like to hear what you guys are using and why. I currently have ACDSee 10 and it is pretty easy to use store and edit.
I have recently started using Photoshop Elements 7.0 and I have a lot to learn. For PSE I like the onling photo sharing but I need to practice with it more so I can use it to more of its potential. Are there any of your favorite operations on PSE that you like to use? Let me know
