Another Great Experience

Postby gldiana » Thu Jun 05, 2008 11:14 am

I ordered a large print from MPIX.com (20" X 30") for a client and it was shipped promptly as usual. The print was picked up yesterday at the post office (3 days turnover).
Unfortunately I chose USPS priority delivery, and regardless of the extra careful packaging and warning, those nice people at the Postal Services must have put some very heavy boxes on top of mine bending it and ruining the photo inside (that was sandwiched between 2 thick cardboard sheets). I emailed MPIX asking if they had any delivery insurance on my package and I got a reply about 3 minutes later from customer service saying they would replace at no cost. I emailed back asking if I could pay extra for FEDEX delivery since I don't trust USPS doing a good job (we know they really don't care about their damages since they cannot be held liable) and customer service offered free FEDEX delivery. So, just a few minutes ago somebody knocked at my door and it was FEDEX with my photo, delivered in perfect conditions and overnight.

I know this might sounds like advertising, well, why shouldn't it be? I used MPIX for 2 years for all my large print jobs and every single time they delivered (quite literally). Customer Service has been nothing short of amazing and now my photo is ready for matting. If we all share good and bad experiencing we can make our life as photographers a bit easier.

I took a photo of our local Community Chorus for advertising and publicity. When the Chorus members saw it- they all wanted a copy!

I knew I was not going to run 100 at our local Camera Club, but a friend in the Club suggested I try Adorama Pix.

I uploaded my image to them on a Tuesday, and on Friday I had Fedex at my door with 100 copies!

I was extremely satisfied and impressed!

Thanks Luca,

I have been wandering who to use for my larger prints (over 8x10). I think I'll give them a try. My local shop does everything larger than that on a poster printer, and the quality ain't good enough for me.

I'll remember to use other than USPS, too. They have not been able to get me any mail from the lower 48 in less than 3 weeks for a couple of months. I know the jets didn't stop flying, so I'm not sure what is going on with them.

I used MPIX for 2 years and I can tell you, Caleb, you'll be pleased.
Their prices are not the cheapest but the quality is high and as you can see their customer service is worth it. Plus their shipping is low: $4.95 for USPS Priority or $9.75 Fedex Next Day.
I love to have landscapes printed in Kodak professional metallic, they look almost tridimensional and B&W look great in their Professional B&W Digital Paper.

I think I also posted a quick advertisement for them on here awhile back, but I too love MPix.

I had two images shipped to a gallery in Vegas that wanted some of my images to hang on their walls, and when they received them, one of the images was damaged due to a crushed box during shipping.

The woman called me to tell me about it and I emailed her the contact info from MPix and she talked with them directly. She called me back in a few days to tell me that she had a new image overnighted to her and was as happy as a clam.

Now if I could only get the images to sell...LOL Vegas prices...I Doubt it!
