Epson Stylus 1400

Postby CG415 » Sat May 23, 2009 6:38 am

Hello all,

I have a couple of questions. My wife and I have come into some money and were are going to be getting a our Mac in about a week. Along with this I will be able to purchase a photo printer. What I am looking for is some where in the middle of the road, I don't want super expencive and I don't want the cheepest either. I have been looking at the Epson line and looking real hard at the Stylus 1400. This will allow me to print up to a 13 x 19 photo. I guess what I'm looking for is either expereances that you all have had with it, web sites that have done reviews on them, etc...

Thanks in advance for all of your help.

Peace,

Chris

Hey Chris,
I have the 1400 Epson and I have had zero problems with it! The biggest problem is getting the software dialed in. That comes from not having my equipment calibrated!
I use the heck out of it proofing my final prints. I usually print out of Lightroom 2.3 in the "use monitor" for color control, ICC turned off. I do choose the paper to match and change the settings accordingly though!
The only thing I dont like about it is the print cartridge cost... but thats another matter. I thinks they, printer manufactures, all do the same... give you the printer for cheap then make it up on cartridge costs. :(
I will stay with Epson the next upgrade I make...

Ive got the 1400 and its an awsome printer :D
it does go through alot of ink though, i have done about 15 13X19 and i need to change some cartridges.
well idk if thats alot of ink but.. :?:

Black and white printing is awmazing when i was looking at printers to buy i heard alot about how some printers have a green or purple tint, I havent noticed this at all in the black and white prints ive done..

the only thing i dont like about it is that its only 13x19 lol
i think one step up from this printer you can have i think endless lengh or somthing like that so you can do panoramic pictures.

I defenitly would recommend this printer..
