metadata question

Postby ConnieR. » Sun Jun 19, 2011 3:06 pm

I have another question about the Canon G9. It seems like the metadata is quite sparse, compared to what I get with my Kodak easy share. Here are screenshots of the properties for the Canon:

Also, notice how the resolution for the Canon is only 180 dpi, while the Kodak has 480. Is there any way to make the Canon have a higher resolution? I thought since its a much fancier and more expensive camera, it would have a better resolution than the Kodak. They are both 12 megapixels. Would it make any difference if I used RAW on the Canon G9 instead of Jpeg? also what is the advantage or disadvantage of shooting RAW + JPEG? Thanks.
