RAW File Sizes V ISO

Postby Edd » Wed Apr 08, 2009 12:41 am

Okay this may be a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyway.

What is the relationship between RAW file sizes and ISO settings ????

I noticed that when the ISO is set to 100 on my 40D I can get 313 images in RAW, however as the ISO is increased the number of RAW images I can take drops. :?

Thanks in advance

Ed

The higher the ISO, the lower the pixel resolution.

Hi Luca,

Sorry I don't follow that ????? :? :?

Surely the lower the resolution the smaller the file size, therefore the more images can fit into a given space ???

Am I missing something.

Thanks

increasing the sensitivity of the sensors means that the processor has to interpolate more pixels, which results in more pixels of different color... which in turn means compression is lower therefore higher file size.
That's my story and I'm sticking o it :)

If ISO is High, then the pixel resolution is low.
