camera bag for long zoom lens?

Does anyone know of any camera bag that isent 3 - 400 dollars to hold a long lens, about 12" long.
along with two camera blodies and a few other lens?.

Which type of bag are you looking for - backpack, shoulder bag, hardcase, etc.? There are a lot of them out there that would hold the items you mentioned.

i found one from tamrac, its the expedition 7X. but i also like the Lowepro vertex 200 but i dont know if this will hold that lens "in a diferent topic" that im getting this spring

I took a camelbak H.A.W.G. that I had from when I was in the Guard and took some of the foam from concrete expansion joints and duct taped them to make the compartments I want.

I would suggest a pack you can flip completely open, but not so overly large that you have tons of extra room.

I carry my 70-300 Nikkor, a tripod, my 16-85 VR and a 50 mm prime lens along with a bunch of lens wipes, filters and the cords for my camera in the bag.

I have that Tamrac one, but it's an older model before they went to the new more comfortable straps.

It's pretty big and will fit two pro bodies, one with a 70-200 (Hood Reversed), two flashes, and a few other lenses along for the ride. I bought an extra lens case from Lowepro that I strap to the side to hold the 28-300 L lens or a few water bottles if its on the camera.

If I could afford it, I'd get rid of this one and move up to the newer expedition type one. The straps are way more padded and contoured to fit your body.

The interior can be adjusted almost anyway you like and I think it's under $200

I went with a Lowepro sling last year and love it. It allows you to remove the camera w/o taking off the backpack. I hike a great deal and find the pack comfortable and the compartment sizes are flexible as they are velcro. I have the same problem you have with the larger lens. I would like to be able to to leave my 100 -400 on the body and have easy access to it, but as I have the 200 series there is not enough room. The other drawback on this bag is that it does not have a built in tripod mount. I have made my own with some straps that work fine and still give me access to the compartment with out taking the bag all the way off. When you are walk somewhere and are not in a position to use a tripod, this feature is great. You just swing it around your body and the main compartmen is right there in front of you. It's especially nice in bad weather when you don't want to put the bag on the ground.

This isn't big enough for two bodies, etc. but I went to walmart, and went to where they sell the suitcases. There's a section for overnight pillows, etc. and they have a bag that was about ten bucks. It has two side pouches, big enough for my 100-300mm lens, and the middle holds the camera with the 100-300 lens on it, and then inside the 'lid' there is a zipper pouch where I keep extra batteries, sd cards, etc. and it also has a hanger in it but I don't use that. It's pretty nifty, and for just a trip to the zoo etc. I could put the long lens in the side pouch, keep the small lens on the other side, and carry both camera bodies in the middle. It has a small handle on top so I tied an extra piece of material for a longer handle that fits over my shoulder. For ten dollars, it is a very very nice camera bag.

What is a camera with a manual lens openings and manual shutter speed controls? Ok, so for school, i'm taking a photography class, and it said that i need a camera with a manual lens openings and manual shutter speed controls. what exactly are those? I have a digital camera. Is this fine for the class? Also, it said that "no point shoot or automatic only cameras would be allowed"

You need an SLR where you can control the aperture and shutter speed independently, manual mode.

What bike bag is the best to use for holding large batteries? Will a eva foam bag melt if i put batteries in there. My bike has an electric kit and i need to fit my nihm batteries in a durable bag. Im looking for quick release buckles for easy attaching. Also my batteries get really hot after 30 minutes. Thanks.
