My greatest limiting factor is often a tripod. I can suck it up for any focal length problems since I only have the 50mm f/1.4 USM, but I need a tripod haha. I saw your Giottos tripod so I browsed their products for a while and I have a couple questions for you (Luca), but anyone else is welcome to answer.
[*]How sturdy are the Giottos carbon tripods? (MT 83 Series)
[*]I'm 6'0" and still growing so what height tripod would you recommend?
[*]Is the 15lb capacity enough or would it be safer to shoot for 17 or 22?
[*]Does it matter what size ball head I purchase?
[*]How well do the quick plates hold up and does it matter what size?
[*]How fast can you drop it from maximum height (not extended) to minimum height? Can they go lower than their specified heights? ( I believe you said yours could go to the floor in your "A Tripod you can Love" thread.)
[*]How durable is it for the outdoors? I do a lot of hiking due to close proximity to the mountains.
That should cover it, unless anyone else has a point to make. I'd like to purchase a sturdy tripod and the Giottos seems like a very high quality brand, but more reasonably priced than a Gitzo. (Gotta love the non-functional BB codes on this forum.
