Monitor Recommendations

Postby Suzie » Tue Nov 18, 2008 1:17 pm

I am in the market for a new PC monitor. The Dell monitor lasted 4 years, so that brand is out (Of course that lasted longer than the hard drive and video card...not sure what will be next...). Can anyone give me some recommendations for a good, inexpensive (under $300) monitor for graphics/photography? My last monitor was 17". So, I am looking at a 19" or 20" one this time. I have been reading reviews for the HP, ViewSonic, and Samsung. The Samsung seems nice, but no height or swivel capability. Any suggestions?

I ended up buying a Samsung 23" plasma HDTV that had a monitor input on the back. I use this as a television, and a computer monitor at the same time. After working on photos on this puppy, it's soooo hard to go back to my 17" monitor on my lap top. The colors on the Samsung are just stunning and the blacks are the best.

If you're trying to save money, this might be a good bet as your monitor can act as double duty and also be your television :D

Just one thought, but then again, I live in a 25' travel trailer, so everything has to pull double duty.
