I cant get used to shooting on a monopod. For some reason it seems like it limits the ability to move or follow a moving bird? I guess I'll have to practice with that more.
Cindy picked it up for the first time yesterday and snapped a few shots. She then put it back down and said "Ok, I think that will be a lens to set up and shoot a stationary animal, or something that is eating. I wont be able to hold it and track birds like you're doing!"
I now see why so many photographers recommended the 300 f/2.8 as its only 6 or 7 lbs compared to this sucker weighing in at 11lbs.
Beggers cant complain, believe me, I'm not complaining
I'm just trying to get a few shots that are good enough that I can proudly display them to Cindy and let her know it was worth our savings account.
