Congrats on the new camera! Are you going to get a new 5D when it's released?
I've enjoyed seeing the images you posted on POTN. The pics of your daughters were wonderful.

Hello everyone!
I'm Ivan, from Croatia.
I'm new here. :)

My gear:

Olympus C-5050z
2GB SanDisk Extreme III CF card
Sony VCT-R640 tripod
...and that's it!

In December I'm going for the DSLR finally. EOS 50D is in my sight along with other "goodies". :)

No new 5D, as far as I was told by some people at Canon.

I think one will be introduced at Photokina this month. There are many people that have been waiting for years for an upgrade to the 5D.
I don't think it would be in Canon's best interest to continue ignoring them.

Canon is doing better than that. It's abandoning the 5D is favor of a much better camera with a price similar to the 5D

Yes. Around 21 MP from what I heard with Digic IV processor and a new type of sensor that has an innovative way of processing light to produce better curves.

Howdy,

Okay, okay I'm new here also but have been in the business for almost 40 years. My wife says when she comes into my camera room it looks like a museum  Hey, they are all mine and they are all paid for. I'm the museum piece! All of my backups have back-ups!
Nikon:
1 Nikon F; 2ea Nikon F2AS(one chrome/one black); FTB; FTN;Nikkormat EL; 9 prime Nikkor lenses; 3 Nikkor zooms; 600mm Nikkor(I don't shoot film any longer) N90S; F2; F4;F5. D80; D300. 6 different speedlights. PB5 Bellow, F bellows, reversing ring.
Canon:
Xti; 3 primes; 45mm shift;100mm macro; 100-400 IS zoom; extension tubes. (Just started with Canon about 2 years now).

Medium: 6x7 Mamiya RB67 and three lenses.
4x5: Calumet mono rail 45D view & Calumet field.
I also have plenty of studio equipment and another room is for all that. Kids are all moved out so I expanded my camera room to their rooms(can't sell the house right now, cause of the recession) and let me add the darkroom equipment, no I think not, I'll never be able to finish this thread. Thanks, this is a great site!
Dusty Trails,
Brent
Nikon/Camera systems; Calumet 4x5 field & mono rail
Got tent will camp, got kayak will float, got bride will love!

I'm also new here.
I have a Pentax ist*d whatever that means, and also a Pentax K100. I started out many moons ago with a K1000, old 35 mm and went to the Z10 automatic 35mm. I'd gotten the 100-300m zoom lens for that, so when I went digital, I saved buying another expensive zoom lens, and stuck with Pentax. So far I've been happy with it but I am far from being a professional. I only have that and the 18-55 lens. I was looking at macros, but I see where they have the 100-300's listed as zoom/macros. That doesn't sound right. Can someone clear that up for me? I also have one of those 2X adapters that only works under absolute perfect conditions. Low light, no photo. Pooh.
I also have a Kodak point and shoot for those driving over the platte river bridge and quick snap a picture.

Upgraded my old 30D to a 50D last October with which I shot nearly 7000 photos already in my recent trips and got a 5D Mark II on the way. Store emailed that it was shipped today. WhooHoo!

Sorry Bob,
I can assure you it's a really bad camera and I only bought it to reduce the risk of you getting talked into buying it. ;-)
