Do you prefer a ball head or a pan tilt head and why?

I've got a junky Walmart pan/tilt and hated it. I've got a Bogen 3021 tripod and a Manfrotto 488RC4 midi ballhead. I can't imagine ever wanting to use even a good pan/tilt now. I love the ballhead, just aim camera where you want and turn one knob.

I replaced the pan head that came with my Manfrotto with a 468MGRC2 ball head. There's just no comparison between the two.

I perfer a pan tilt head for the ablity to adjust both movements independently. I designed a fast action head that uses levers similar to a pistol grip ball head. It is being built now.
