wanting to do to much to fast?

Bob, yes i am getting a REALLY good feel for AV mode. Learning what aperture will fit with the shot.(like the mug one. i didn't want the background so blurry you can't really tell its muffins, but not so clear the main focus is taken away from the mug.) Also, i'm unable(literrally) to download those programs onto my current computer. Though i should be receving my macbookpro here shortly. yayness.

Luce, thank you!I didn't even think about using candles! I will deff try different things with them! I'm not sure how one should "play with lighting", so i guess i'll learn that! As Bob said, my tri-pod should be arriving Wednesday(tomorrow!). Once that arrives i'll deff have some real fun!(the camera shake was quite annoying wtih the smaller apertures.)
Once i have more shape shots and some outdoor ones, i'll be sure to post them!!(really hoping i can get some good stuff this week. its a busy one)

For installing the programs you just have to pop in the CD that came with the camera and run it then choose which programs you want to install. They are really good so don't miss on that.

also. I made some 3D shapes today in math. I thought they might make some interesting shots...they didn't turn out how i had thought they would. The back ground isn't crisp white, and the colors aren't as bright as they should be.


I'm hoping to get outside tomorrow(i doubt it. busy.) but perhaps wednesday.

To me, that looks to be a white balance issue. I was having similar issues until I started to use a gray scale card. You take a picture of your card, and either set your camera's internal white balance if you can, or use that photo to determine your grayscale in your editing software.

I took the time to learn how to set manual gray scale in the camera before I take the pictures. Less post-processing.

This is the same image. Just pre and post adjust. Makes a WORLD of difference and I don't have to guess for what ever lighting I have.
