The first thing I did when I bought my first SLR in 06 was buy the book Understanding Exposure by Bryan Peterson. The book taught me about aperture, shutter speed and ISO, how to use these adjustments in the field, and I've enjoyed learning by trial and error, achieving both pleasing images and failures. I like to study my shots afterwards on my monitor, figure out how to make improvements, and someday I hope to capture a shot that looks perfect. I've been looking into taking a local community college photography course, this topic has me interested in the possibilities of an on-line course, and learning without shooting with a crowd sounds more like my style. Thanks for the links to the photography classes!
