PICTURE PROJECT REPLACEMENT

Postby Tusker » Wed Apr 29, 2009 4:41 pm

Ok, here is a question for the more learned than I. Last year when I got my Mac Pro Book, I installed LEOPARD, which was included. I very quickly found out that Picture Project would not work with LEOPARD so I never installed it on my desk MAC. I understand that Capture NX 2, DOES work with LEOPARD. Question is, will it recognize the D 80 as well?? Also, I am beginning to think that 'LIGHTROOM' is best used with RAW files than Jpeg or Tiff. Anyone that can verify that? I seem to be going around in circles with LIGHTROOM and am trying to find an answer before I get the upgrade. :) THANKS!!

I have an iMac, a D80, have used Picture Project with Leopard and now use NX2. NX2 is very capable and I can find no reason to spend six times as much on Photoshop. The color selection point offered in NX2 are very powerful.

Just want to point out the fact that Lightroom is not Photoshop (and also costs half the price) and is not an editing program, but a Workflow program.
Saying that LR is an editing program would be a bit like saying that Excel is a calculator. Yeah sure, it contains a very powerful editing section, but there's much more to it :)

MHAYES---- not sure how old your iMAC is, but Leopard I installed in my MBPro would NOT load. The machine was new Dec 2007 when I tried to install PP on it. ?? Would be interesting to find out as Nikon told me at the time they were 'working on it? ' :)

My iMac is older - bought spring 2007. I upgraded to Leopard shortly after it came out.
