You lucky dog Luca. I'm feeling a bit of MP and full frame envy at the moment as well. Although there is no way I can afford Nikons new 24 MP machine. I think my computer would fall over dead if I even brought one into the house. I'm actually very happy with my 12 Mega Pix right now.

Hello to all.

I am using an Olympus E-1, with 14-54, 40-150 and a 70-300 plus various other bits. I must admit I am envious of some of the very nice photographic kit some of you are using.

Been working with a D 80 the last three years and decided I needed another body. After a lot of research I made the decision to get a D700. My 18-200 VR DX lens will not take full advantage of the full frame, so I will have to keep it on the D80 and hope for the best. I am sure there will be a large learning curve for me here, but life is about learning, even after you retire. I have a couple older lenses off my F2A I want to program into the 700 so I hope I don't get too far in over my head. My new baby should be here on Monday. :)

Hello everyone,
I just started using a Nikon D90 with a 18-105vr, and a 70-300vr. I switched from a Sony H50 and H7...... a "BIG" learning curve!!! But I really enjoy it.

My Camera is a Canon 5d MKII

My lenses for same are currently the Canon 50mm f1.8 and the soon to be rechipped Tamron 28-300mm which I was previously using with my rebel 400.

Update:

I added to the list a Canon G10 with the underwater casing. Tested it in Hawaii last month, super cool.

Hi everyone, I use Canon 40D with EF 28-135 IS, Sigma 120-400 OS and EF 50 f/1.4 (currently being repiared). Generally I´m quite satisfied with it, but I´m a concert photographer and the photos with high ISO settings are too noisy so I want to replace the body and basic zoom with 5D Mark II and EF 24-70 f/2.8.

BTW MYPOV - I see that youhave the same camera I want to buy; don´t you think that it would deserve better lens than a $100 plastic "toy" and a $350 3rd party ultrazoom?

MMX,
I'm not sure why you consider the 50mm 1.8 a plastic toy. Sure, it's made of plastic, most lenses are.
I have a 5D Mark II and I also own the 50mm and I actually happen to love that lens and at $80 the price/quality is unbeatable.
The portraits that I got with that lens far exceed any portrait I got with any other lens, as long as I keep it at f/1.8
One should not dismiss a lens just because it's not sold for a $1000. I do agree on that fact that if one goes the lenght to purchase a 5D Mark II he/she should also get some good lenses, not just the low end of the market otherwise the quality of the camera is penalized by quality of the lens.

If you're having issues with high ISO images because they are too noisy, why are you looking at a zoom lens?? Do you normally shoot concerts with your 50 or have you been shooting them with a zoom? Your 50 f/1.4 captures 4 times as much light as a 24-70 and I think the 40D with a 50 f/1.4 would result in less noise than a 5D Mark II with a 24-70.

Good to see you back. I believe you were planning on visiting Austrailia when you were on last. Did you go and if so, how was the trip?
Can you share some of your pictures?

Hi, just at the last moment i changed to New Zealand, because the Australian Visa took longer time to be issued for us and i didn't have time to wait, so that i changed to New Zealand.

about Photos, to be honest, i joined some competitions or contests [not included here] and waiting the results, if i will win in one of them then i will show my work here, in fact i love my work from New Zealand and i have some my best ever photos from there, but to show them on the net and then not get many comments that making you happy is not helping, so i just look to win in competitions then i will be happy to have winner shots.

Maybe i can post links to some of my New Zealand photos which i showed on few forums if some interested in.
