Kelly, the 400 we have is the f/2.8 version and yes it's a bank breaker. We sold a ton of stuff to get this lens...think our house, one of our cars, a barn worth of collectables ....etc!

I'm not sure if I have a list of our entire arsenal except for the one that I put together for our insurance company. But I will say that it takes up the entire back seat of our truck. We actually took the back seat of our truck out and I built a custom box that is lockable and holds 3 backpacks worth of gear, a few smaller camera cases and a couple of tripods and monopods. Basically a life savings carried in the back seat of a diesel truck :D

Image
This was one day while I was cleaning the gear and had it all out on the concrete

Here is a shot of Cindy with the 400 f/2.8 Its a tad bigger than the 400 f/4  and ALOT heavier!! 11.8 lbs to be exact

Since you're a professional, you can write your gear off on your taxes can't you?

I was wondering when that image was going to surface :D

Luca was showing me his camera and I grabbed it, held it over my head and snapped a picture. That is our back seat on a day out shooting :? It makes me want to go clean out my truck! Look at what a mess it is!

You should've raised it out of the car on your monopod like you did on your blog. How cruel, yet so funny. :)

I can see Luca now. He's driving behind us when he sees his pride and joy come barreling out the window on a small stick while we're doing 50mph down the road  No one ever claimed I was a smart man, but the pictures usually turn out funny at least :D

I have one, finally. Thought of you all when I took it. I was sitting on my four-legged tripod taking 4-H pictures and remembered this thread.

I did get one of us on the game camera, but I can't find it so this is what you get :D

I just realized I said a four-legged tripod. Duh. Yes they are expensive but they smell good and are a lot of fun.
