I shot a wedding last night and bent the card pins on my 40D. Thankfully, I had two backup cameras with me...but I can't straighten the pin...so off to Mack it goes tomorrow.
Let us know how it works out. I have my equipment warranty through another source and I have it insured, but often wondered how good the Mack warranty was.

I will Bob. I've heard good and bad, but several weeks ago exchanged emails with the Mack PR person. She is very eager to please and told me to call her or the Head of the warranty department with questions or problems. Normally the hack companies don't do that.
I'll let you know about Mack Bob. Helen Oster is the customer rep for Adorama and she troubleshoots issues between her customers and Mack but so far it has been smooth.
One added thing. I always use my Amex to buy expensive items. They add an additional year to any warranty. Also, and I didn't know this until yesterday, they give a 90 day anything goes warranty. No matter the reason, they cover the repair or replacement of an item purchased with your AmEx, for 90 days.
Mack has received my camera. About all I can say so far is that they are very good at keeping me notified about the progress. I guess I'll know about the quality of the work soon. Got my fingers crossed. I miss my baby!
I know that feeling, Peter. I've had to send off my camera a number of times for repair/callibration and I can't believe how much I miss not having one.
I called last week to see what the status was and was told the repair window was 15 to 20 days from the date they received it. That didn't make me happy but for some reason, I've been going through a kinder, gentler phase.
I checked the status today and it was shipped today.
They received it on the th and shipped on the 23rd. Not great but not horrible either.
I haven't given it a full workout but they replaced the strip, the camera seems clean, the few pictures I took were good.
Barring any unseen problems I give them high marks except for two things.
1. It took an eternity (Not really, from the 8th until today)
2. They were very specific about needing several inches of bubble wrap. NO paper. I got it wrapped in brown paper. NO bubblewrap...but no damage either.
i'm amazed that someone from Mack responded to your post on this forum!
I'm a member of probably 8 different photo forums and there are hundreds of threads revolving around about almost every camera manufacturer, company and repair service out there, and I've NEVER seen a customer service rep respond to a comment made about them.
