Assignment 26 Sept 09

Postby Edd » Sat Sep 26, 2009 12:19 am

Hi Guys,

Cindy (Pat's wife) and myself have been batting around a couple of ideas for this weeks assignment and have settled on this idea.

"Tell Me A Story".... The idea is to capture an image that shows emotion and is able to portray a message of what has happened/happening over to the viewer(s) of the image.

This is probably going to push us a little here as we need to find situations on the fly. The scene can contain either people, animals or anything else you need to create that emotion and "Tell A Story".

If you're struggling to find one image then we'll allow a sequence of no more than 3 shots to tell your story.

When you look at the images that have posted please say what the "Image says to you" and what "Emotion" you get or feel from the image.

Good luck.

Cindy if you need to add anything then please feel free to do so.

Oh we'll close for voting on 5th Oct ..... that gives us two weekends to get something posted.

Ed
If you want to edit any of my images to demonstrate points/techniques to either myself or others please feel free to do so.
Still learning with Canon 40D, 28-135mm, 100-400mm L and Elements 6.
Any Advice greatfully received.

I thought tonight was the deadline until I got on my computer and checked the date. I'm not sure if I should tell the story or if that should be left up to the viewer. I took this with the 5D and the 28-105 on a tripod, with pouring rain and 25MPH wind gusts!! Weather is such an ever changing thing. How about, Pats suggestion, when you poll on any photo you should explain what emotions, feelings, story or lack of that you got from a photo. The photographer won't comment or their thoughts until after the polling. Open to any suggestions that anyone might have.
