I took so many photos, it will take me another day or so to look at them all. What a fun day it was!

I put more trip pix on a web page...some of the photos will likely be swappped out this week, and I still have another 8gig card to download

Lovely images there Graham, I especially like the first one it has a real calming effect.

How did you get the Salmon shot ? do you have an underwater case for the camera ?

Thanks for posting.

Thank you Edd, I'm glad you like the pix. For the underwater shots I used a D200 inside a housing, used a telescopic fiberglass painters pole to lower the rig into the water, and fired it with pocket wizards. I had a lot of fun!

Fabulous Graham, hard to pick favorites. I like the underwater one for its originality, the fish are sporting Fall colors, very neat :)
The second one is really a wow photo.

Thank you Luca and Bob, it seemed like a magical day, no wind, nice light, and I put 850 miles on my car in 24 hours...

Thank you very much Steve! I'm a huge fan of your work, and I would love to shoot with you at the beach someday. Or anywhere for that matter, and if you want to shoot water birds, I have a special place, in the San Fernando valley.....

Cheers,
Graham

Graham, I'm not much of bird photographer and my longest lens is only a 200mm on a 35mm sensor. I have a 2x teleconverter but don't like the quality I get from it but hey I'll give it a try.

Steve, These birds are so accustomed to people, a 200 will be fine, without a TC. I use a 300 f/4, and more often than not, cut the legs or wing tips off egrets and herons in flight. A 70-200 is a good choice as well. I have a spot where a couple of retired gents fish there six days a week, and they toss fish to the birds, which gets them excited.... The night herons are almost tame, and eat fish from one of the guys hands.
