Nikon NEF Raw

Postby new2this » Fri Nov 13, 2009 5:14 pm

Being new to digital picture software, I have a question. I have a Nikon D60 which produces what Nikon refers to as an "NEF" raw file. Can I use Photoshop Elements 6 to work on this "NEF" raw file from Nikon (and if so how) or do I need to use another program like Nikon Capture NX2? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Cannot speak for the other venues, but NX2 will sure get the job done-- :)

From the Organizer, go to the "Fix" tab and choose "Full Edit." PS6 will recognize the NEF as Nikon's version of RAW and open the file in Camera Raw. I would suggest that you purchase a copy of Scott Kelby's, "The Photoshop Elements 6 Book." If you can't find 6, nothing much really changed from 7 to 8 so most will still apply.
