Which Camera is the best value? Canon 7D or Canon T2i

Postby qualityresults » Thu Feb 18, 2010 9:43 am

I am really debating on which camera would give me the best value.

and Can I justify an additional Grand for the 7D.

the major Difference I can find is Steel Frame on 7D, double Digic IV processors on the 7D compared to single on the T2i.

Need some help here.

BTW first Post to forums, but avid reader

thanks in advance

Ron,

Welcome to the forum!

Not sure if you have read reviews of the 7D, but it has some very nice features. Here's a link to an in-depth review: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canoneos7d/

Welcome to the forum Ron. I'd spend the extra money and move up to the 7D if it was up to me. Everything I've read and seen from users who have put it through it's paces love this body.

I'm not a big fan of the all plastic Rebel series and they never seem to be able to keep up if you are shooting action shots and shooting in RAW.

If you've held the 7D, you know it just feels sturdy in your hands

What Pat said!
I took the plunge and never looked back. Fast, great tracking with a ton if AF options, low noise at high ISO, good handling and a fistful of features.

A side benefit is the video. I didn;t care about it when I bought the camera but love it now,

Also because of the high MP (18) it will give sharper crops.

I don't know about the T2i but I'm loving my 7D. I did a photoshoot for a ski magazine and had the camera out for several hours in 10 degrees weather and it didn't glitch at all. Plus, the 8 frames per second came really handy.
