I think it's doubtful. The 5D was never designed to be a sports camera. The mark II went to 3.9fps from the classic's 3fps. I don't see a big jump in future releases. Also, are you sure that they will release a new model this fall? it took over 3 years for the Mark II to be released after the original 5D.

I'd drop some cash on the new model if they did. I love the faster FPS bodies, but I'm too spoiled with the full frame to move up to a fster body
Once you use that Full Frame, it's hard to go back to anything else, although I hate how gruelingly slow the darn thing is

I suspect that they need to be careful that they don't start competing with their higher end cameras. Plus the Mark II has only been out a little over a year and I doubt that they would be ready to roll out something better this fast.
