I was just walking along the shoreline of a lake that runs through a park, and happen see this nice sized snake out of the corner of my eye!

Your exif data shows that this was shot at 18.6mm - I'm not sure I'd have gotten that shot without a long telephoto lens.

A couple of tips that you may find helpful.

When shooting living creatures, try to get their eye/eyes in sharp focus.
This image seems to need some/more post processing. Most digital images require some post work.

LOL! Ya, I was pretty close, but I had nothing to worry about...He was more scared of me than I was of him. Cause when I went to get closer he went off into the water, but also if you think about it, an animal will really only attack if it feels threatened and they can sense when they aren't being threatened. So, therefore I was safe!
