jet take off

what would be a good lens to photograph a jet taking off and landing? I have a Nikon D7000.

This doesnt have anything to do with the lens, it has everything to do with how far you are away from the jet, what time of day it is and which camera body you're using.

If you want to stop the jet so you can see it in great detail, then you want to have a very fast shutter speed, probably above 1/1000th of a second.

This was shot with a Canon 5D camera body with a 400mm lens. They were pretty far away from me

Same settings

If the jets were closer or you were able to get closer to them, you'd probably need a much wider angle lens, but you're settings would have to be around the same

Hope that helps
