Canon's new budget IS's...

Postby Walczak Photo » Thu Apr 17, 2008 7:54 pm

Hey Folks,
I'm sure most of you other Canonite's have heard about these already...the new Canon 18-55mm IS and 55-250mm IS. The shorter one is going for around $180 while the longer one is around $280. While I've read the reviews and they seem pretty impressive (for the price of course), I was just wondering if anyone here has tried them yet and if so, thoughts and opinions?

I'd really like to get the Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 L, but that whole money/budget thing is still very much in the way. If I can score a couple of sales from these exhibitions however, I could very well swing that 55-250. My big interest of course is the IS...and even Tamron isn't kicking out IS in that price range (yet).

As always, thanks!
Jim
