POLL: NEW ADS

Postby gldiana » Mon May 19, 2008 10:06 pm

You have all noticed the new huge rolling ads on the right side of the screen. I would like to have everyone's opinion (regular poster and casual readers) on how you feel about this.
In my case, on my work screen I don't feel like visiting this forum anymore, the screen is 17" and I have to keep scrolling back and forth laterally to be able to read the messages. Feel free to express your opinion.

Please vote, your opinion does matter. Once I collect enough votes I will pass to phase two.

Thanks!

I agree. These ads make this forum less pleasing. The scrolling sucks!

I agree, the scrolling back and forth sucks and it makes the web site less appealing. If they had to put advertisements on here why can't they put them a the the bottom or top of the page, instead on the side?

Thanks,

Chris

On my Advanced Browser (A version of IE) I don't have to scroll left to right to see the full page. But, they are a little annoying. Unless they had ads that were of importance to me...

The adds are extremely annoying. This used to be a place to come and talk about photography and show off my latest images. Now I spend way too much time scrolling because of the adds.

Its to the point that I dont show up as much as I used to. I can understand having adds on the primary website since it is a magazine website.... but why do you think you need to plaster them all over the forums too.

Acording to my trusty piece of plastic... these things are almost 4 inches wide.... that takes up a whole lotta screen space.

9 Votes????

If you want to fight the war on the ads you need to do better than that, people (to those who didn't vote).

I dont like them. If I wanted to see adds I would go to the main outdoor photographer page.

Yes, thank you.
I don't mind have ads on top of the page, we can always learn about new products (as long as they are camera related) but on the side they were interfering too much with the legibility of the forum.

It's nice that people are listening.

I agree, this is much better. The side ads were very annoying.

Thanks so much for removing them.

WOW... this is the first time I have logged in for a couple of days.

Thank you so much... I like the ads at the top and bottom so much better. They dont interfeer with the layout of the forum. Finally a mag that listens to what their subscribers/members think.

With that being said... How do I subscribe?

You can subscribe from the main page but it might be cheaper to get a card from one of the magazine on the shelf at the newsstand.
