Wow, the second one is amazing! what a great fourground and background combo, it totaly captures the eye right away and leads you to the BG trees and fog.

I am new to the site but have been a subscriber to the mag for a year now. Looking at some of the pics in the mag can be a bit intimidating but I would like to get some opinions on my photographs and get some advice to help make them better.

This one is a sunset from a place called Alijos Rocks (Rocas Alijos) which lies about 200 miles off the coast of Mexico and 480 miles south of San Diego, CA.

I took this with my Canon 20D with an IS 100-400mm lens. The seas may look pretty calm but we were getting knocked around pretty good.

Anyway, here it is and I appreciate any positive and/or negative feedback.

there wasn't a lot of post processing in these.

this would have been my dad's mother's 75th birthday.
she was also an artist and she continues to be.
