Great Jana. I haven't made it to the Big Horns this year but I want to.
Love all those lupines. Your image though suffers a bit from being too centered, next time trying including more foreground and less sky :)

Thank you, Luca. I will definitely keep that in mind! I will be in the same area again this weekend and will try again.

We were actually on our way home from Jackson (my in-laws live in Pinedale), and spending a couple of days in Yellowstone, when I took this photo, so we were in your neighborhood! Beautiful country, but I grew up in the Big Horns (Story, WY), so I am still partial to them (and they aren't NEARLY as crowded)!

Have a great day!

I completely understand, I love the Big Horns too. Too bad I can't get there as often as I'd like.

It's been so hot here lately that I just had to look at the amazing photos here in an effort to recall how pleasant springtime is. And it worked, the beautiful images posted here brought back the joy of feeling a warm breeze, sunny skies, and a rebirth of wildlife and flora.

I found a new joy this past spring, which happened by surprise, photographing wildflowers. I can’t wait until next spring, because I hope to spend numerous days enjoying the pleasure of capturing the color, freshness and splendor of mother nature at one of her finest moments.

Here’s a few of my favorite signs of spring images from 2008.

A beautiful and free spirit enjoying a gorgeous day

The birds were singing and the air smelled sweet

Poppies soaking up abundant California sunshine

Goldfields and Lupine

Some of the flowers growing close to the ground were very small

The hills are alive

Image
The vibrant poppies were stuningly vibrant and majestic

Beetles were activly polinating next years show

Graham - very nice...We just had a streak of about 5-7 days in the 90 degree range. Now, we are back in the high 70's which is odd for August in Indiana, as we should be in the high 80's for the next four weeks..

...Thanks for the 'memories'...always nice to look back...

I know what you mean!!

You dont know how nice it was to be out taking pictures in just a sweat shirt and a knit hat! Granted it was only in the 50's, but much nicer than the last time I was out taking pictures.

Two weeks ago in Michigan with a good buddy of mine at an Ice Race on the Lake

Then yesterday in Charleston. That's my wife Cindy walking through the gardens at the Middleton Place Plantation - Cool, but not Michigan cool!!

Keep those flower shots coming! It is 5 AM, and I am sitting here watching the snowplows working furiously trying to get the roads cleared so the school busses can run this morning. I want to see flowers!!! Oh yeah, and it is only 7 degrees out! I have been too busy to go snowmobiling, so I would just as soon spring arrive! :)

I feel for you folks stuck in the great frozen North! I'd take some flower pics, but my camera hasn't come back from the shop yet. BTW, it's supposed to get to 71 degrees today. :)

We saw a strange sight at the Middleton Plantation. We lived in Florida for years, and I've seen my share of Plam Trees, but I never saw one this hairy?

Saw this one while walking through the bamboo garden

Pat,

You are so blessed to be out taking shots in 50 degree weather. When i was out yesterday i just wore my jeans, zippie & winter jacket....i was coooooldd when i came in the house.(though it might have something to do with me getting on my hands and knees in the snow...) 50s is NICE compared to MI weather. lol.
(nice flower pics btw. those little white ones with the green dots are just so pretty!)

If you're coming to our part of the state, yes, bring shorts. If you're headed to the mountains, they're optional.
One of my grandsons wore shorts to school today. :)
