Description

This is my first post on OP. Any comments and critiques are most certainly welcome. This Great Egret was returning to the edge of the pond after an unsuccessful attempt to get a fish. He/she was just entering the sunlight when I got this capture. I really like how the underexposed background contrasts with the subject and how the wings frame the rest of the bird. I feel the intense look of the eye and water drops also add to the intrigue of this photo. I know I cropped it pretty close, but I feel that it helps distract the viewer from the fact that the lower part of the bird is missing. Nikon D60, Nikkor 55-200mm lens Focal Length: 160mm Aperture: f/5.3 Shutter Speed: 1/2500 sec ISO: 800 Cropped sections off both sides and a sliver off the top to make vertical
