Description

The best view of Phoenix, and of the entire Valley of the Sun, sits 2500 feet above the city to the east on the Flatiron Summit of Superstition Mountain. I have climbed this challenging trail to enjoy the amazing view quite a few times in the past, but nothing beats the view that I got, the afternoon that I finally got to hike up in the afternoon and spent a night on the summit. I had specifically planned for a full moon stay, but was pleasantly surprised when it rose in the most perfect position that I could have asked for. There is a good reason I continue to be drawn to this magical spot.
