Mountain flights from Kathmandu leave every morning during the dry season from October to April. The flights offer spectacular close-up views of the Himalayas and mighty Mt. Everest. The planes used are 30-seat turbo propeller planes with 15 seats on each side of the craft. I suggest booking the earliest flight and try getting a seat on the left-hand side of the plane near the front. Each passenger will have a window seat and an opportunity to visit the cockpit. The plane ride lasts just over an hour and costs about $110 US. This is by far the most economical way to photograph a sweeping landscape of Mt. Everest.
