If Magritte Visited The Sierra Foothills

Description

One of my favorite things about the sierra foothills is the way they appear almost manicured in places; the blue oaks that dot the hills and meadows stand stately and solitary, which gives the scene a stark, minimalist beauty. The surreal quality of this scene--a nearly abstract distillaton of land, ominous sky, tree--reminded me of a Magritte painting.
