I often run this frequented location in the early morning along with a dozen or so other locals. I noticed that after the sun comes up the light is perfect. If you have a camera the best light is on a cloudy day it creates a softbox that breathes life into the landscape. The most difficult part is the waiting and watching for the light to be just right. If you compose your shot just right you may even get our large Cowles Mountain in the shot. The whole journey is a not too hefty 5k, well worth it! In fact I have hiked uphill farther to get fewer shots. This may seem ordinary to some but the pictures don't lie it's a true "San Diego Treasure!"
