Description

Since the annual fall foliage bloom is dependent on moisture and the first frost, the timeframe for foliage is uncertain. Ordinarily, early to mid October is the peek for foliage in New Jersey. Sometimes the change in leaf color of all species happens at around the same week, but other times the leaves of different species change color at different times over a period of about a month. Dry weather earlier in the year can severely decrease the intensity of the colors. The right amount of precipitation and a strong enough first frost can result in an arrangement of vibrant colored leaves during foliage. I had went several times this year in search of foliage, but was unable to find anything of interest, until early in November on a short trip to Rariton River, in New Jersey. The foliage had started late this year, but I was lucky to find this beautiful reflection of a wide variety of colors where I captured this photograph.
