Notes

Marys Peak, at 4097 feet, is the highest point on the Oregon Coast Range. On a clear day, the summit provides views of the Pacific Ocean to the west and many Cascade Peaks to the east across the Willamette Valley. designated a Scenic Botanical Area. In late spring and early summer its meadows are dotted with wild flowers. Another unique feature is a subalpine forest of noble fir (Abies procera)that lies just below the summit. This tree is a popular Christmas tree that is normally found only the higher peaks in the Cascades. Marys Peak has a campground, picnic areas and several hiking trails. The road is closed to motorized vehicles in the winter, but the peak is popular for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
