Description

Luck is in the eye of the beholder. For the predator, a lucky day. Not so much for the prey. It was lucky for me to catch a glimpse of a web and a curled up leaf with a small dark something sticking out the leaf just a bit. Examing it closer I could see it was a spider with his prey wrapped up in silken webbing. I needed to lay on my back and shoot up through the curled leaf to get this shot. I planted a small patch of my back yard with an assortment of wildflower seeds. I left it to chance as to what would grow and bloom. But it has been a fun summer photographing the flowers and all the critters - insects that seem to be attracted to the blooms. This garden spider also felt it was a good spot to set up an almost invisble net to capture unsuspecting insects coming to feast on the flowers.
