Description

When we dined at Simon Pierce in Quechee, Vermont, our table on the enclosed porch had a wonderful view of a covered bridge on one side (shown) and a large waterfall (not shown) on the other. Fortunately, I had brought along my camera. Because as sunset approached, the light turned absolutely golden, and a number of local teenage boys put on a floorshow for us by swinging out from a rope attached to the bottom of the bridge – sometimes two or three at a time – and then dropping into the water. Alas, the bridge was pretty well washed away during Hurricane Irene in 2011 -- but fortunately, it's being rebuilt!
