• Description: This is a scene I visualized long before I was fortune enough to experience it last fall. The view into Sabrina Basin from the north fork of Bishop Canyon is always stunning, especially when the aspen-covered slopes turn gold and orange. The Range of Light also provides the occasional jaw-dropping sunset, and I had been hoping to capture one over the canyon during fall--that hope was realized last October; I arrived in the canyon right as the sun was setting, and watched the sky turn every shade of pink and purple for what must have been a half an hour. It's still one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed as a photographer.
