- Description: Despite coming down with the flu earlier in the day I still did the 4 mile hike to Upper Cathedral Lakes in Yosemite National Park. I arrived early and found what I thought was my composition. That's when I realized that from my angle the lake was too small. I needed to be higher -- on top of the cliffs 200 feet above me. After some rock climbing and bouldering I managed to get on top of the cliffs and waited for the sun to set. Just as the sun dipped below the horizon it lit up the mountains in what I now call a beautiful "Cathedralglow". The wind died down long enough for me to capture a reflection in the lake of the setting sun on Cathedral Peak.
