- Best Season: Autumn
- Description: The Golden Road between Greenville and Millinocket, Maine, is rough and pot-hole strewn. But it fully lived up to its name this fall. I caught a glimpse of water to my right at one point and pulled into a short turn-off. As I looked for an attractive landscape shot, I found the pond was not photogenic from that viewpoint, nor was the foliage on the far shore. As I began to change my focus closer to hand, however, I noticed the heavy dew laden needles of the pine trees in my foregrond. I switched from wide angle to my 100-400 to get closer to the pine, but also to cast the autumn hues on the far side into a soft mosaic of background color.
- Gear: Canon 7D, Canon 100-400mm, Hoya Polarizer, Manfrotto Tripod
