- Description: We sat in our vehicle as five different family groups of elephants, about 125 animals in all, crossed the Sand River at MalaMala Game Reserve. Soon we were surrounded by these amazing creatures. As the afternoon turned to evening, they started back across the river. As the light got better, the scene became even more surreal.
