- Description: The next door neighbor had a large pin oak cut down the year before. This Pileated Woodpecker started to frequent the stump around 4-5 PM almost everyday for a few weeks this oast summer. It is unual to see this in a town backyard. Evidently the insect larvae in the stump was very inticing!
