  • Best Season: Autumn
  • Description: Our family tries to hold an "end of summer" camp each year. This year we camped at Scott Lake on the Willamette National Forest. The view across the lake includes the Three Sisters mountains. These volcanic peaks lie within the Three Sisters Wilderness. My outdoor photography efforts were hampered this season by hip replacement surgery, but I made sure to take the camera on this trip. The previous couple of days were marked by heavy lightning and rain. The evening of this image we were fortunate for clearing and enough of the setting sun to light up the mountains and clouds. The McKenzie Pass area has abundant natural features with plenty of hiking trails to access viewpoints.
