- Description: I had been out tromping through the snow all morning at a local park and was heading back to the ‘ol truck when I spotted this little gal. She was a bit shy at first, but it didn’t take too long for her to start to get a bit curious about me and come over to investigate. After all, it’s not every day you see a guy with three extra legs (tripod) and a huge extra eye (camera / lens).
I could see by her size she was this year’s doe, and this was the first big snowfall of the season. I think she was as curious about that as she was about me!
Anyhow, as she approached, I was a bit worried I wasn’t going to get the shot due the the thick brush all over the place. So, I slowly maneuvered around to a (more or less) open area.
At first she wouldn’t get into position (happens all the time, they just don’t seem to take direction well), but she finally came over and lifted her head over the branch you see at the bottom of the frame. She allowed me to get a few shots then managed to get her face blocked by another twig as I attempted a few more photos. In the end, this was the shot of the day.
