We don’t see many slot canyon shots with a light beam like this one. The
narrow line of light and the splashes of blooming reflections make this a
unique slot canyon shot. Originality is a challenge in the canyons and this
photographer managed to come up with something special. We would like to see
some more attention to the corners and edges to strengthen the composition.
For example, in the upper left edge there are two deeply-shadowed features
intruding into the frame. We would like to see either more of the lower one
of none of it. Also the light are along the top edge of the frame is a bit
too blown out. Ideally we’d like to see that hot spot reduced while still
keeping the texture in the canyon walls.
