Nikon D40
The latest from Nikon is loaded with features at an eye-popping price
Ideal for photographers who want to travel light but don’t want to give up functionality, the D40 is also Nikon's most compact and affordable D-SLR to date. A camera that will no doubt be promoted to those making a transition from a compact digital camera, the D40 offers a host of features that will appeal to many outdoor photographers, regardless of experience and skill level.
1) The 6.1-megapixel camera provides an affordable step up for photographers who have been shooting with compact digital cameras. Sold with the 18-55mm ƒ/3.5-5.6G lens, it delivers a complete D-SLR system.
2) Weighing just 17 ounces, the D40 is Nikon’s smallest D-SLR. It measures just 5x2.5x3.7 inches and is ideal for those who prefer a compact camera that utilizes interchangeable lenses.
3) The camera is as fast as it is small, with a start-up time of just 0.18 seconds. For capturing sports and fast action, the camera delivers up to a 2.5 fps continuous-firing rate.
