Sekonic DigitalMaster L-758DR Light Meter

A new meter specifically designed for today's digital cameras

First Look: Sekonic DigitalMaster L-758DR Light Meter1) The DigitalMaster L-758DR offers four light meters in one. It measures flash, ambient, incident or reflected light, and will customize them to your camera or film type. Measured values can also be mixed and stored for interchangeable readings in reflected and incident modes.'

2)
A rectangular one-degree spot metering allows for precision, and the parallax-free viewfinder shows you an exact image. The viewfinder displays ƒ-stop, shutter speed
and more.

3)
The light meter will alert the user when a highlight or shadow has met or exceeded the dynamic range of highlights or shadows. The dynamic range of specific camera profiles can be used or clipping points can be set to match your own dynamic range needs.

4)
To simplify the process, the DigitalMaster L-758DR’s midtone button gives a proper exposure value by shifting the highlights or shadows until they fall within the dynamic range. The pre-exposure alert will stop blinking to let you know that you’ve reached an optimum exposure.

5)
Programmable to react to light in the same way as your digital camera or film type, the DigitalMaster L-758DR features exposure profiles that will match the sensor sensitivity of your camera. Exposures will never exactly match from camera to camera due to variances in ISO, measuring methods and even file formats, so the light meter offers downloadable preexisting profiles or you can create your own. It will store up to three profiles in its memory at a time.

6)
Simultaneous analysis of flash and ambient light is read and displayed automatically, and the readings are displayed in three ways on the LCD: combined flash and ambient readings; percentage of total flash in the exposure; and display of flash, ambient and combined readings on the analog display.

7)
A splash-proof, class-four, water-resistant standard body with sealed buttons, switches and compartments means durability for shooting in dust, rain or humidity.

The DigitalMaster L-758DR maintains the traditional features of a light meter, while expanding on the capabilities of the digital age. Programmable preferences, exposure presets and the ability to mimic the settings of popular D-SLR cameras and film stock make the DigitalMaster L-758DR a leader in the field.
