Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3 and Camera Raw 4.3 Updates Now Available

Adobe® has released updates to Photoshop® Lightroom® and the Photoshop Camera Raw plug-in, both available immediately as free upgrades for existing users. The Lightroom 1.3 update provides added support for Apple® Leopard(tm) Mac OS X 10.5 and includes a technology preview of the Lightroom Export SDK, available as a separate download on the Adobe Labs site. The Lightroom 1.3 and Camera Raw 4.3 updates also include raw file support for seven additional digital cameras including the Nikon D3, Nikon D300 and Canon 1Ds Mark III.

Master nature photographer Fritz Pölking dies

The nature photography community suffered a great loss this year with the passing of Fritz Pölking. The German photographer was regarded as a pioneer of modern wildlife photography in Europe, winning many awards throughout his career including BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year. He was 71.

National Geographic Magazine To Award Second Annual Photography Grant

WASHINGTON (Oct. 11, 2007)—Following its long tradition of supporting and fostering new photographic talent, National Geographic magazine will again award an annual grant of $50,000 to a professional still photographer. In addition to the grant, the magazine will assign a photography editor to provide guidance for a project undertaken by the grantee. The grantee will have full access to all of the facilities provided to the magazine’s regular contributing photographers.

Panasonic Expands LUMIX SLR Line
