National Park Foundation and Olympus Contest


Winners are announced

Washington, D.C. (March 16, 2011) – The National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, and Olympus are proud to announce the winners of the 2010 Share the Experience photo contest.  More than 9,500 amateur photographers submitted images to the contest which ran from June to December 31, 2010.  Mike Mamrosh of Tucson, Arizona was selected as the grand prize winning photographer with his photo of a jubilant hiker in Glacier National Park in Montana (below).  Mr. Mamrosh’s photo will be featured on next year’s Federal Recreation Lands Pass and he will receive a five day / four night trip for four to the National Recreation Area of his choosing, an Olympus PEN® E-P2 Camera Kit and a STYLUS TOUGH-8010, a Gander Mountain Gift Card, Merrell Moab Shoes and a Federal Recreation Land Pass.

Second place winner, Ramon Esparza of Colorado Springs, Colorado, will receive a three-day, two-night trip for two to a Federal Recreation Area, an Olympus PEN E-PL 1 Camera Kit, a Gander Mountain Gift Card, Merrell Moab Shoes and a Federal Recreation Land Pass, for his photo of the Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge.   Third Place winner, Greg Clure of Newbury Park, California, will receive an Olympus STYLUS TOUGH-8010 Digital Camera, a Gander Mountain Gift Card, Merrell Moab Shoes and a Federal Recreation Land Pass, for his photo of Arapaho National Forest.  Fourth Place winner, Dennis Carroll of Benbrook, Texas, will receive an Olympus STYLUS TOUGH-6020 Digital Camera, a Gander Mountain Gift Card, Merrell Moab Shoes and a Federal Recreation Land Pass.

Each of the ten Honorable Mention photos will receive an Olympus STYLUS TOUGH-3000 Digital Camera, a Gander Mountain Gift Card, Merrell Moab Shoes and a Federal Recreation Land Pass.  The 2010 Honorable Mention recipients are: Charlotte Rayl of Eagan, Minnesota, Stacy Mizell of San Antonio, Texas, Jeffrey Lanzafame of Pittsburg, California, Mark McCandless of Cedar Hill, Tennessee, Haroon Ahmad of Zionsville, Indiana, Jennifer Courtney of Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, Kathleen Turner of Fairplay, Colorado, Lisa Garcia of Waxahachie, Texas, Troy Duncan of Encinitas, California, and Wei Sun of Haymarket, Virginia.
