Olympus Updates


Viewer application and ZUIKO 70-300mm lens

Today Olympus announces a software update for the Olympus Viewer application along with a firmware update for the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 lens.

The software update for the Olympus Viewer application offers the following for Windows and Mac users:
 
- Support for the movie format (mov) from the recent Olympus camera introductions
- Ability to upload images to Facebook and Flickr
- Added function to limit uploads to only those files marked for upload in the camera
- Added "Insert Text" function to "Image Edit" window

ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 Lens Update
 
A firmware update is available for the ZUIKO DIGITAL ED 70-300mm F4.0-5.6 lens to improve focusing during MF operation.

There are two options for updating the firmware:
 
1) Simply launch the included Olympus camera software and connect the camera via USB cable to an internet connected computer. Choose the Update function from the Camera menu in the software to apply available updates for camera bodies, lenses and accessories.
 
2) Download the software updater from the following link:
http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_section/cpg_downloads_updater.asp and follow the installer instructions.
 
With each method, users can choose to display information related to what the update will apply, prior to performing the update.
